French lubrication specialist Lubrilog has unveiled the Plastogrease Range, a new line of high-performance, PFAS-free lubricants tailored for automotive actuators. The launch addresses growing environmental scrutiny and global efforts to eliminate per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from industrial applications.
The Plastogrease Range excludes all PFAS, including polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), yet maintains the performance and durability essential for modern braking and steering systems. According to Lubrilog, the products combine low torque performance with excellent anti-wear characteristics, particularly on plastic-to-metal contact points, ensuring long-term reliability in challenging automotive environments.
A standout feature of the new range is its sustainability credentials. The lubricants require no hazardous symbols on their Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), positioning them as safe and responsible alternatives for vehicle manufacturers, actuator designers, and maintenance professionals. These products are also designed to help future-proof systems in anticipation of tightening regulatory standards surrounding PFAS use.
Lubrilog says the development underscores its ongoing commitment to sustainable innovation and leadership in compliant lubrication technologies for critical automotive components.
The company became part of TotalEnergies in 2020, following its acquisition by the French energy giant. This strategic move has bolstered Lubrilog’s capabilities in developing advanced lubrication solutions, with the Plastogrease Range emerging as a direct outcome of that strengthened expertise.
