This one shocking Star Wars story that has never been depicted on-screen suggests that Princess Leia Organa may actually have met one of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’s biggest heroes years before that movie is set. Although Leia had a cameo in Rogue Onewe never saw her interact with Jyn Erso.

Based on everything we’ve seen in Star Wars movies and TV shows, in fact, Jyn and Leia never met (which is a shame, given both were instrumental to the Rebellion and brilliant women in their own right). However, one little-known Rogue One story that never appeared on-screen suggests Leia and Jyn met after all.

In Marvel’s Star Wars: Rogue One Adaptationwritten by Jody Houser and Duane Swierczynski, one panel depicts Saw Gerrera, Bail Organa, Jyn Erso, and Leia Organa all standing around a table togetherwith Bail and Saw locked in a heated argument. Both Jyn and Leia look very young in the depiction.

This obviously suggests Jyn and Leia at the very least tangentially knew one another from this meeting if not others like it, although the extent to which they interacted beyond that isn’t clear. The question nevertheless remains, though: Could Jyn Erso and Princess Leia really have met as little girls?

There’s One Big Problem With This Scene

Unfortunately, The Timeline For This Makes Absolutely No Sense

I actually love the idea behind this story, not only because we get to see Bail and Saw in their fatherly roles—which is especially welcome given Saw was hardly a great father—but also because it’s nice to imagine Jyn and Leia having this connection in light of all both of them go on to sacrifice for the Rebellion.

Sadly, this story makes absolutely no sense canonicallyparticularly in terms of the Star Wars timeline. We know that Leia did not become involved in Rebel activity until she was older, for one, but Rogue One also confirmed that Saw left Jyn a full fifteen years before the events of that movie.

Sorry, But I’ll Never Think This One Star Wars Rebel Was A Good Person

Saw Gerrera is undoubtedly a very important figure in the Rebellion, but I will never be able to think of him as a good person regardless.

That means there’s next to no possibility Leia would actually have attended such a meeting with Bail Organa at that time (a notion that Star Wars shows and movies have consistently reinforced, as Leia didn’t even know about her parents’ Rebel activity until an older age), and, even if she had, Jyn likely would not have been with Saw.

With those massive contradictions, it’s unfortunately safe to assume this story is simply not canon accurate, and it remains likely Jyn and Leia never met. Even so, the image of Princess Leia OrganaJyn Erso, Bail Organa, and Saw Gerrera all together before the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is a pleasant one.
