Saturn Retrograde

Saturn begins its annual retrograde in Aries on July 12 or 13, 2025, depending on the location in the world. Saturn is self-mastery, structure, and legacy. It is the keeper of time. It is the builder that brings inner calling into tangible action.

Retrogrades are spaces of review, introspection, rest, and realignment. They are a step back in order to better observe the reality in which we exist prior to moving ahead again.

As our planet of lasting influence and legacy turns inward, we are asked to turn inward, too. We slow down our actions so we can reorient ourselves to the non-physical, including the emotions guiding our movements, desires waiting for expression, and quieting of outer noise relating to success, authority, productivity, responsibility, and worth.

While in Aries, Saturn retrograde asks us to focus on our internal direction. Which of our desires are true? Which were born from voices other than our own and were never ours to take on?

Throughout this retrograde, which draws to a close in Pisces on November 27, 2025, we are leaning toward self-leadership, autonomy, and empowered authority. We are remembering our voice, our inner compass, and our most aligned direction.

Joining Saturn in its descent into its inner world, Mercury begins its retrograde in Leo on July 17, 2025, where it will continue until August 11, 2025.

Mercury is the mind. It is the narratives through which we perceive the world and make sense of our reality. When in Leo, which moves with authentic, carefree, and happy self-expression, Mercury’s perception turn toward the self. What narratives have we gathered and used to build the container in which we exist? What structures and memories, ideas and beliefs have we been observing ourselves through? How much of it belongs to us? How much of it is our truth?

This Mercury retrograde in Leo comes to us for the sake of our liberation and self-devotion. What exists within the realm of our minds that keeps us from expressing ourselves authentically? What exists within the mind that’s inhibiting our truth, our happiness, ourselves?

Sun Square Chiron

Closing the week on July 19, 2025, is a dance between the Sun in Aries and Chiron in Cancer in the form of a square. In astrology, the Sun is a symbol of self whereas Chiron is a call to claim our own medicine and wisdom.

As the Sun shines in Cancer, it brings our awareness to our formative years and our memories of the past. It asks for presence with the innermost layers of ourselves so that we may accept them, integrate them, and reclaim them as a part of our being.
