For me, running is so much more than just a sport. I love that running is something very personal that shows me what I am capable of. At the same time, I can meet like -minded people and have fun. I am currently training for two marathons. The outfits must be comfortable on such long distances. That means leggings that sit well and shoes that feel good. This is what a typical training week looks like for me:

Saturday
Rest days are as important as the training. I wasn’t running today, but thanks to a walk, I stayed in motion what my active relaxation was. I feel really rested and I’m looking forward to my long run tomorrow, which is usually the highlight of my week. I drove to my mother because I want to walk through Richmond Park that is near her house. With a little luck, I even get deer to see!
Sunday
Today was my 18 -kilometer run for the third week of my marathon training. I walked through Richmond, climbed a hill and enjoyed the wonderful view and was then in the park. Unfortunately I didn’t see any deer that was disappointing, but I heard a lot of pop music to stay on the ball. It started to rain after about 10 kilometers. A short cinnamon snail stop gave me the necessary motivation for the last 5 kilometers. On the way home, the paper bag was softly soaked, but the content remained delicious.
I ran the long distance in my new shoes, which was brave. But I thought that I could get started just as well. The Nike Invincible 3 did well and I had no problems. After about 5 kilometers I had run down properly and was really able to enjoy the comfort because the shoe offers me stability and supports me when rolling off.
Montag
Today was another day of rest. I will start a new job soon, so this week I have free for an urgently needed mental restart. First I did a little something in the household and then met with my sister -in -law in spe for dinner. We really bumped into the bellies – the day after a long run, I always have really coal steam! I was also pretty much on my feet today, so I couldn’t really relax. Towards the end of the day I was pretty broken, which is quite normal after a long run.
Tuesday
I did even more budget stuff today and then did a full body workout. With this, I add my running training twice a week to protect my knees and joints. It is a pancake day, so there was both hearty and sweet pancakes for dinner that were delicious. In the meantime I feel really relaxed, probably because I have eaten so much!
Wednesday
Today is Valentine’s Day, so my friend accompanied me in the 10-kilometer run, which was on my training plan today. Training with him is always so much fun – it would be so nice if he also trained for a marathon! My body was still well rested. We really took it easy and just enjoyed the run.
Let’s started on London Bridge, then we walked over the Tower Bridge and along the Regent’s Canal. In the end we ended up in a bakery in Dalston that makes the best sandwiches. I had one with fennel sausage that was just divine. There was also a coffee and a fresh lemonade – also chef’s kiss. I love to plan running routes that end on bakeries or cafés that I have not yet tried. This is a great way of exploring London, especially areas that I don’t know well yet. We ran the 10 kilometers back and stopped at another bakery to try their Pain-au chocolate with pistachio. Pistachios have their moment right now and I think it’s great.
Thursday
Today there was a workout on the plan that focuses on legs and fuselage. After that I was with my sister to spend time with my nephew and my niece. In the evening I went to a concert in the inside: which was so much fun. We danced to all hits (active relaxation … Hello?!) And when I was back home, I could definitely feel how much I used my legs today.
Freitag
I stayed with my sister and today I started my interval session, which was almost 8 kilometers long. The sun gave me extra motivation.
I made four intervals progressive miles. Here in Southeast London this means that I had to run up a lot of hills. I chose the Brockley Three Peaks Walk Route, because there are a few really wonderful views of the city. The sprints were so hard, I thought I would die. Despite the hills, I managed to reach all my speeds. With one of the intervals, I was even faster than planned. That made me so proud and I just felt great. The rest of the day was about relaxation and I first treated myself to a coffee and delicious cinnamon snails. I am getting fitter and fitter, but the London cafes and bakeries have all my money.
Running is indispensable for my mental health. I think if you always prove that you can achieve difficult goals and are there for yourself, this is changing your brain chemistry. Your self -esteem increases the fact that you show yourself respect and self -love by moving, sitting in the top. I have become so much more confident due to running, which has nothing to do with my external appearance. It is self -confidence that arises from the knowledge that I am capable and strong.
Morgan’s three tips to stay motivated when running:
• Run with other people
• Lively disco pop music
• Run to a new place, a bakery or a café (I love to discover it while running food trends that I saw on social media!)
