It may only be July but I feel like I’ve already exhausted my collection of summer dresses. I’ve been wearing them in steady rotation, day in and day out, since before Memorial Day. And while that’s a good thing because they’re all getting a lot of wear, I’m getting a little bored. So I decided to expand my horizons and look to other stores beyond my go-tos, like Beyond Yoga and Gap, for at least one more breezy dress for the season.
That’s when I stumbled upon the extremely well-reviewed Bare Crochet Halter Neck Midi Dress at Maurices, and I’m as obsessed with the other shoppers over it.

Just a hair under $45, this dress comes in the prettiest blue jasmine shade (though there’s also an almond cream color that’s actually on sale for less than $23). It has stunning crochet detailing near the neckline and there’s an elastic waistband that helps cinch things in where you want it, but without being constricting.

“I wore this dress for family photos,” says a Maurices shopper. “It fit perfectly and is very flowy. It’s great for a hot summer day and can be dressed up or down.”
Another reviewer, who is clearly a girl after my own heart with appreciating a frock’s washability, had this to say:

Because, yes, since the dress is 100% rayon, it’s machine washable. I’d still throw it into the machine on cold, using a delicate cycle, then probably either line dry or lay it flat to dry just to keep the crochet detailing in tip-top shape.
