- Prince Louis hasn’t yet attended Wimbledon, although his older siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte have both been to the iconic tennis tournament.
- There’s obviously still time—and Louis’s parents Kate Middleton and Prince William are expected to appear at the event before its conclusion in mid-July.
- Though he hasn’t been to Wimbledon yet, Louis still received a seriously memorable gift dedicated just to him at the tournament a few years back.
Though his older siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte have, Prince Louis still hasn’t made his Wimbledon debut—maybe this year!—but he still has a memorable keepsake from the iconic tennis tournament.
Louis was given a “priceless gift” from the tournament in July 2019, when he was just over a year old. When Louis’s mom Kate Middleton was in the Royal Box at the event, she was handed a present from tennis legend Stan Smith. The gift (per Marie Claire) was an Adidas Stan Smith sneaker, signed and dedicated to Louis.

In case you’re not up on your tennis, Smith won the 1972 Men’s Singles Wimbledon Championships (as well as the 1971 U.S. Open). In 1973, Adidas released its first Stan Smith sneaker—and the brand still sells the recognizable shoes up to the present.
Speaking to GQ in 2021—two years after his encounter with Kate, who was then the Duchess of Cambridge—Smith opened up about the moment to the outlet.
“I saw photographs of the Duchess of Cambridge wearing the shoe, and I once had the chance to chat to her at Wimbledon,” Smith said. “I actually gave some shoes to the Duke and Duchess for George, Charlotte, and Louis.”

“I presented a shoe to her at the Wimbledon tournament a few years back,” he continued. “I gave Prince Louis a baby-sized Stan which said, ‘To Louis from Stan Smith’ on it.”
But Louis wasn’t the only then-royal baby to get a pair of Adidas Stan Smiths—his cousin Prince Archie (the son of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who was born in May 2019) also got a pair.

“I got a letter of thanks, which means [Meghan] got it,” Smith told GQ. “And, interestingly, I’ve always heard that [Queen Elizabeth] has to approve all gifts, so that makes it royally approved by Her Majesty.”
