Greatest negotiations: When I changed the department shortly after my studies, I asked for more money. But that was rejected because I had just got a small increase in salary. Compared to my colleagues of the same age: I was definitely underpaid on the inside and I should have clearly fight for more money. When I started in the new department, I was told: “Why didn’t we get you earlier?” So I think they urgently needed me – and therefore could have requested more salary. But I didn’t want to risk that they wouldn’t have given me the job after all.
