Red Lobster is known for its flavorful seafood dishes, from lobster to shrimp to fish. But every year, the chain gives a little extra love to a certain crustacean: the crab. That’s right — Red Lobster’s Crabfest is officially here for the summer. Along with limited-time dishes that cater to crab lovers, Red Lobster is also introducing a dish beloved by seafood eaters: the seafood boil. Customers have been flocking to Red Lobsters everywhere to get their hands on the new boils, and they have a lot to say about them.
What are the Red Lobster seafood boils?
In honor of Red Lobster’s Crabfest, the chain has added two new seafood boils to the menu. The Mariner’s Boil features a Maine lobster tail, a dozen shrimp, corn, red potatoes, and of course, snow crab legs. If crab isn’t really your thing, there’s also the Sailor’s Boil, which has shrimp, smoked sausage, corn, and red potatoes. Regardless of which boil you choose, there’s three flavor choices you can choose to coat your boil in: roasted garlic butter, Cajun butter, or Old Bay seasoning. All of them are bold and flavorful, especially when combined with shrimp, lobster, or crab.
What are people saying about the new Red Lobster seafood boils?
People were immediately skeptical when Red Lobster announced they would be bringing seafood boils to restaurants. Now that customers are able to get their hands on the boil bags, they have a lot to say.
Some customers were pleasantly surprised by the boil, like Sophie Saldana. She was a fan of the Cajun butter, and said the seafood was tender and juicy. She did add a bit of her own seasoning to her Sailor’s Boil, but was a fan of the garlic flavor. She did say to BYOS — bring your own seasoning. Besides that, she enjoyed both the Mariner’s and Sailor’s Boil.
Other diners, like Wayne Dang, were severely disappointed. He said there was barely any seasoning and it tasted bland. In his opinion, the corn was better than the actual seafood. He got the Sailor’s Boil in the roasted garlic flavor, but could only really taste the garlic — the roasted flavor was nowhere to be found. In the end, he gave it a 6/10.
Overall, the opinion on the Red Lobster seafood boils are mixed. Some say that they’re too dry and lacking flavor, while others say that not every seafood boil needs to be drenched in sauce to have flavor. TikToker @dariutopian took things into her own hands and created a two sauce combo. She mixed the Cajun butter with the Old Bay seasoning, and it created the perfect sauce for her boil. Red Lobster even commented, saying “That two sauce combo hack thooo 🔥🔥🔥.” I guess the only way to know the truth about the new boils is to try them yourself. Don’t mind if I do!
What other dishes are being offered during Crabfest?
Red Lobster is also introducing the Crab Your Way offering. It includes a full pound of crab legs, prepared to your liking, over crispy potatoes. There’s also crabby stuffed mushrooms, crab-topped asparagus, and crap-topped potato — a crab lover’s dream. You can also get steak and salmon oscar if you don’t get the crab hype. Crabfest is only available until September 14, so make sure you get your hands on a boil and some crab delicacies before then.
