More information is surfacing about why Kelly Clarkson was “forced” to cancel her Las Vegas shows.
Over the weekend, the talk show host pulled the rug out from under eager fans who traveled far and wide to see the debut of her Studio Sessions residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Sin City — canceling just 90 minutes before she was due to step on stage! In case you didn’t see her announcement on social media, she blamed strain on her voice as the deciding factor:
“The prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice. I want the shows to be perfect for y’all and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage so I am taking this weekend and next week to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve.”

Fans were PISSED at the last-minute cancellation as some traveled from out of the state and even COUNTRY to see her perform. As for her crew, they’re reportedly getting fed up with her recent “flaky” behavior, which started when she missed several tapings of The Kelly Clarkson Show between March and April.

Insiders have alleged that the 43-year-old’s “personal life is so insanely complicated” and that she’s “fighting some serious hidden battles,” but no specifics were given. But one thing insiders want to make clear is how much it pained her to break her fans’ hearts last weekend!
On Wednesday, someone close to Kelly reiterated to People that the American Idol winner “didn’t want to cancel any shows” but was “forced” to for the health of her vocal cords:
“She was devastated and felt terrible for fans that had traveled to see her. She’s been very excited about the Las Vegas residency and connecting with her fans.”
According to the insider, Kelly’s vocal strain “came on quickly” after “long rehearsing sessions,” hence the last-minute cancellation:
“Even as a seasoned singer, she pushes herself too hard. Vegas is very dry too and it seemed this was an issue as well for the vocal health. She was pretty much forced to [in order to] prevent long-term damage.”
But she’s apparently ready to rock ‘n’ roll this upcoming Friday:
“She’s ready to kick things off this weekend though.”
That’s good… Innerestingly, there was no talk of any personal battles here, though — which sort of lends credence to what one of her staffers told DailyMail.com on Tuesday about her recent hot-and-cold behavior:
“I love Kelly dearly but the whiplash is a lot with her right now. She’s all in on the talk show, then she’s not, then she is again. She’s performing in Vegas, now she’s not. It’s her voice. It’s personal issues. It’s enough to make you crazy.”
Hmmm.
