EV Unveiled
Hot on the heels of the ICE Kia Carens Clavis, the automaker has given us our first glimpse of the Carens Clavis EV. As expected, it looks identical to its ICE sibling, offering the same interiors, exterior design, and—for the first time in the segment—three rows of seating.

490km Claimed Range!
The headline figure is a claimed range of 490km, which is 17km more than what is offered with the 51.4kWh battery pack version of the Creta Electric. It will be interesting to see how Kia has achieved this range despite the Clavis EV offering an additional row of seating. Like the Creta Electric, we also expect the Clavis EV to get a 42kWh battery pack in the lower variants, offering a claimed range of 390km.

Feature List
The teaser video showcases a seven-seat variant, but we expect Kia to offer a six-seat version as well, which will be achieved via captain seats in the second row.
The video also reveals key features such as:
- Dual-zone climate control
- Beige-over-black colour scheme
- Dual digital screens
- Wireless charger
- Two-spoke steering wheel
- Panoramic sunroof
Suppose the ICE model is anything to go by. In that case, we can expect further features like connected car technology, Level 2 ADAS, a full LED lighting package, ventilated front seats with powered driver seat, and a digital IRVM.

Rivals
This is one of the most highly anticipated EVs in the segment. It will compete with vehicles like the Hyundai Creta EV, MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE.6, and Maruti e-Vitara, along with future models from Toyota, Honda, Škoda, and Volkswagen.
