- Prices to be announced on 15 July
- 490km claimed range
The Kia Carens Clavis EV will make its debut on 15 July 2025, marking the carmaker’s first locally built EV and the segment’s first three row electric MPV. What’s even more interesting is that along with the reveal, Kia India is also going to announce the prices of the family EV.
As for the all-important battery pack and claimed range, the Carens Clavis EV is expected to share the same powertrain as the Hyundai Creta Electric. The latter features two battery pack options – a 42kWh pack (390km claimed range) and a 51.5kWh pack (473km claimed range). Now as per Kia India’s social media post, the Carens Clavis EV will have a range of 490km on a single charge.
The electric motor is likely to develop approximately 133bhp (with 42kWh) and 169bhp (with 51kWh), mirroring Creta Electric outputs. What this also means is that it is likely that the Carens Clavis EV will have two battery pack options at different price points.
In terms of design and packaging, the EV closely mirrors the ICE powered Carens Clavis with subtle EV cues: charging port above the front bumper, aero-optimised alloy wheels, and connected LED lighting. Interior upgrades include a new steering wheel and a reworked centre console. So far, it seems like the EV will get a seven seat layout.
As for the features, the top-spec variant will come fully loaded. The Carens Clavis EV will get a panoramic sunroof, dual zone climate control with rear AC vents, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, connected car tech, V2L/V2V capability, surround view camera system, Level 2 ADAS, and six airbags as standard.
